Robert Grant

I’ve resided in Hamilton since my father took the job as minister of The Hamilton Federated Church in the early 60’s.  I can remember a Hamilton before the fires with rail traffic going through downtown and had several meals at the Blue Castle Café. So, I guess you could say that I have some history.

I’m a 1972 graduate of Penney High School. After high school, I attended and graduated with honors from Northwest Missouri State University in December 1976 with two bachelor’s degrees.

Since that time, I married my wife, Sharon, and we chose to stay in Hamilton.  Together we raised three children and currently have the honor of being Grammie and PaPa to five grandchildren.

I have spent the better part of forty years as teacher/coach in the public, private and state school settings. Teaching GED to adult and juvenile offenders was particularly rewarding when those offenders were able to attain their high school equivalency. Additionally, I’ve served on a number of boards and committees both locally and statewide.

I became a member of city council, because I believe that before a city can move forward it must fix its infrastructure while at the same time plan for the future.
